Over 50 crore Indians are now using smartphones, 15 per cent increase from 2018 primarily due to brands like Xiaomi and Realme.
Flashlight consumes 3W of power.
If the entire population of India switches ON the flashlight the total power consumtion will be 150,00,00,000 W.
A standard ventilator machine consumes 125W.
150,00,00,000 W is equivalent to the power consumption 12,000,000 ventilators.
On an average the capacity of an earthen lamp (diya) to hold oil is around 50ml.
If the entire population of India lights one diya each then 69,000,219,250ml of oil is used which is equivalent to 69000219.25 litres of oil.
The above statistics are given on the basis of studies and surveys.
Instead of lightning earthen lamps (diyas) why not spend a little less oil during quarantine and satisfy our needs with minimal amounts of food, electricity and water! And if and only if you feel you have more then your needs, feel free to give it away to one's who have absolutely nothing. We've been urged to dispel the darkness spread by coronavirus by lighting a candle, isn't it? And that too by blacking out the entire house and lighting one candle or diya or flashlight ?
India is already a bright country and it doesn't need to drive any strong energy amongst themselves to be strong.
Instead of lighting wax candles why not save it for a rainy day, can come in use!
